Opus is the University of Sasaktchewan's startup incubator. It exists to help mobilize innovation on campus by helping innovators transform their ideas into solutions by working together to apply entrepreneurial thinking to the process of developing their innovation and bringing it out into the world.

Sample Courses
Advanced topics in subatomic physics selected to aid graduate students with their research. Consists of assigned readings in texts and/or scientific journals, related discussions, and additional lectures.
The course covers both a survey of the economics of innovation and presents a practical approach to 21st century entrepreneurship. Students will have the opportunity to develop an innovation idea individually and work together in groups. Students will be exposed to the theory and practice of entrepreneurship. Entrepreneurship practice is explored through guest lectures and discussions with entrepreneurs, with a focus on local entrepreneurship in Saskatoon and Saskatchewan.
An introduction to recent developments in the application of new materials and innovative solutions for problems in structural engineering. Major topics include the mechanics and applications of fibre-reinforced polymers; rehabilitation, repair and strengthening of structural components; and structural health monitoring of bridges.
Students in this course will first understand the value of innovation (via research and experiences), then proceed to a learn-by-doing process to accelerate innovation ideas. This is a seven-step process, which include empathy, definition, ideation, business case development, prototype, test and implement. Participants will engage in the first 4 stages. Participants will engage in group processes and will use tools for brainstorming, prioritizing ideas, developing a business case and for pitching an innovation proposal.
