This year, EcoHack will take place at Collider Saskatoon in Innovation Place from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Participants will work alongside mentors from the Office of Sustainability, SENS, and Opus, and will be supported by local partners such as Meewasin, the Saskatchewan Waste Reduction Council, and SARCAN. It’s a fantastic opportunity to innovate, create impactful solutions, and connect with professionals in the sustainability field.

Exhibit on Thursday, March 6 at 5pm
North Concourse - Place Riel
We’ve partnered with a senior sculpting class here at USask to create sculptures using materials sourced from the Saskatoon Regional Waste Management Center. In January, we visited the site, collected a uHaul van full of items, and brought them back to campus for transformation. Throughout SDG Week, these incredible works will be on display, culminating in a special public exhibit on March 6th at 5pm where the artists will be on-site to discuss their work and share insights about their creative process. This exhibit is a great opportunity for the public to engage with sustainability through the lens of art and repurposed materials.

Connect with land and water on March 21 - the equinox transition between winter and spring as well as World Glacier Day. The USask Saskatoon Campus sits on the banks of the South Saskatchewan River, a glacier-fed system that nourishes our campus. This gathering is an opportunity to pause and consider the river and all water as a vital source of learning.
Join us to reflect on current educational strategies and consider incorporating principles of Indigenization in the curriculum. Create a personal commitment to continuous learning and respect for Indigenous perspectives and an action plan that outlines specific steps for implementing these activities within your own teaching contexts. Internalize emotional connections and reflections derived from Indigenous narratives and land-based knowledge in your teaching methods.
Meet at the Gwenna Moss Centre. Please note this event will move outdoors. Please dress appropriately.
