In an ever-changing world with increasingly complex challenges, the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) require rethinking norms and imagining innovative solutions. Post-secondary institutions play an important role in building capacity among learners to address this work.
With a desire to create learning experiences that are meaningful, creative and transformative, educators have to reflect on how traditional teaching methods can be improved through innovation in the classroom.
Explore strategies and methods for teaching about the SDGs to improve learning outcomes in universities and colleges across Canada.

Pressbooks is online software for creating books, including open educational resources (OER). It enables authors and publishers to design, format, and share their books in several ways, including in web-based and digital/ebook formats or as print-ready PDFs. Pressbooks is used by independent authors and educational institutions around the world.
In this hands-on webinar, you will learn how to use Pressbooks to start to create, build, and adapt online books and open educational resources on the USask Open Press network (https://openpress.usask.ca/). We will cover the basics of creating your book structure, inputting and formatting content, and briefly look at some ways you can enhance your book with embedded media and interactive learning objects (H5P).
Participants who do not already have a USask Pressbooks account and who wish to join in on some hands-on activities should email Julie Maier (julie.maier@usask.ca) with their NSID before the session; Julie will generate a new Pressbooks user account for you and a “sandbox” book that you can explore during the session and continue building with later.
