The Office of Sustainability is proud to work with the USSU Women’s Centre, Women’s and Gender Studies, and the Saskatoon Women’s Community Coalition to bring you a documentary screening this Sunday March 8th to celebrate International Women’s Day.

The film shown will be Arise, a documentary which captures the portraits and stories of extraordinary women around the world who are coming together to heal the injustices against the earth. The film weaves together poetry, music, art, and stunning scenery to create a hopeful and collective story that inspires us to work for the earth.

Following the screening, a panel discussion will be held featuring local campus women’s advocates Priscilla Settee, MJ Barrett, and Yvonne Vizina. Attendees will be invited to add their voice to others from each province to share your views on responsible local, regional, national, and international policy needs through our ‘Intersections Cafe’ focus groups. Your ideas will be combined with others around Canada to create a national solidarity index to show how Canadians can support women and allies from all walks of life in creating inclusive gender justice for all.

The event begins at 1:00 at the St. Thomas More cafeteria on campus. Admission is free and refreshments will be served. Come out and join us to watch an inspiring film and share your voice to help create a framework for inclusive gender justice in Canada.
